Environmental Sustainability

Prodrive acknowledges its role in addressing climate change for the benefit of both our planet and its people. We are deeply committed to achieving net zero emissions and this commitment drives everything we do as an organisation.

We closely monitor government policies to understand their potential impact on our operations.

Our dedicated Sustainability Committee evaluates how the company can reduce its environmental footprint. They explore the adoption of new technologies that can accelerate our transition to net zero, as well as how these innovations can benefit the mobility sector and broader society where applicable.

Our Sustainability Strategy will serve as a roadmap for our net zero journey. In parallel, we collaborate with leading organisations to stay aligned with best practices across sport, engineering, and mobility.

OUR AMBITIONS

At Prodrive our mission is to create solutions that redefine what is possible. We believe we have a positive role to play in solving some of society’s most challenging problems. We strive to exploit our winning ‘know-how’, innovation culture and technology as a means to creating a positive impact and better society for our clients, motor sport enthusiasts, employees, communities and the environment.

Our purpose-built Banbury Headquarters has held ISO14001 accreditation for more than a decade and in 2016 we invested in what at the time was the UK’s largest community solar project which meets up to a third of our energy needs. We are committed to building on these strong foundations and our ambition is for Prodrive to become a force for good in society, serving our community and the environment to create durable prosperity.

As our understanding of the planet’s environmental limits is becoming clearer, we know we must measure our own environmental performance more robustly. This means we must better track our carbon emissions to help prevent the worst effects of the climate crisis.

Prodrive’s environmental and sustainability actions are aligned to the UN Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) such as Goals 5, 7, 9, 10, 12, 13, 15, 16 and 17.

MONITORING & EVALUATION

Measuring and monitoring our social and environmental performance is fundamental to us improving our performance in these areas.

Having a credible baseline of our Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions was a priority for us and we partnered with a globally recognised leader in this field to calculate the starting point of our Race To Net Zero.

Management with executive responsibility annually monitor and review our operation of this policy and the objectives and targets in it, ensuring a sustained programme of continuous improvement is in place and aligned with our code of conduct.

Each year we report on how our operations and business model have impacted our workers, community, environment, and customers. This includes a range of performance indicators and range from our supply chain improvements to our charitable giving, from our employee benefits to the level of our carbon reduction.

The boards of each of our companies review key performance indicators on the company’s health and safety, social and environmental performance on a monthly basis. Our social and environmental impact is incoroprated into our decision making at Prodrive and we consider it important to the success and profitability of the business.
