The 23rd edition of the AUTOBEST Gala Awards was held on May 23rd in the heart of Luxembourg at the exclusive Leweck Resort.
The AUTOBEST organisation was created in 2001 with the concept of finding the ‘Best Buy Car’ available on the European market. AUTOBEST is the biggest independent motoring Jury in Europe comprising of journalists representing 32 countries.
At its annual gala ceremony, awards are presented from a range of categories including design, technology, safety and environmental. David Richards was presented with a special award, SPORTBEST 2024, and entry into the AUTOBEST ‘Hall of Fame’.
On accepting the award David Richards said:
“I am, obviously, very grateful for this award. Normally, when you get to this stage in your life, when they present you with these awards, they assume you are about to retire or that you are going to disappear off the scene. Well, the one thing I want to assure you is that I am not doing that just yet. In fact, I have a lot of things yet to achieve, the first being we’ve got to win the Dakar Rally for Dacia next year!”
