Prodrive Unveils Expansion Plans for the Hummingbird Bike Range

As part of the newly created Prodrive Lifestyle Collection, Prodrive is launching an expansion to the Hummingbird bike range. Prodrive will continue to offer a range of lightweight folding bikes, each designed to cater to different customers’ needs and incorporating the most convenient features such as carbon belt drive and electric pedal assist, whilst at the same time aligning the range under the world renowned Prodrive name.

From its launch, Prodrive has been an integral part of customers all over the world enjoying their cycling with the Hummingbird brand. From helping engineer the original design, crafting carbon fibre and sustainable flax fibre frames, finishing bikes in bespoke paint colours for individuals and limited edition runs, to finally assembling every model at its Oxfordshire Headquarters, every bike has always contained Prodrive DNA.

With the entire design, manufacture and assembly in house, the key models in the Prodrive Folding Bike range include:

1. The Hummingbird

Usage: This bike is aimed at people who want a simple, easy-to-use, easy-to-move, foldable bike. This is Prodrive’s minimalist & lightest model, ideal for straightforward commuting.
Colour: Available in “Hummingbird Yellow” only.
Weight: Our lightest model weighing 6.9kg (15.2lb).

2. The Prodrive Single Speed

Wheels: This model comes with carbon fibre tri-spoke wheels as standard.
Weight: Extremely lightweight at approximately 7.2 kg (15.6 lbs).
Gearing: Single-speed, suitable for flat terrains and short city commutes.

3. The Prodrive Multi-Speed

Usage: Catering for varied riding conditions.
Weight: From 9 kg (19.8 lbs), due to the additional gearing system.
Gearing: Multi-speed (8-speed Shimano Nexus Hub), allowing for better versatility across different terrains.

4. The Prodrive Electric

Design: Advanced version of the original Electric Hummingbird model with improved features.
Weight: From 10.3 kg (22.7 lbs).
Motor: 250W motor providing pedal assist up to 25 km/h (15.5 mph).
Battery: All-in-one rear hub, with a range of up to 50 km (31 miles) on a single charge.
Gearing: Options for both single-speed and multi-speed configurations.

Single Speed, Multi Speed and Electric models are available in either carbon fibre or flax framed options, both of which ensure strength and lightness, and all come with the same quick and easy folding mechanism, making it convenient for transport and storage.
